Shaygan Kheradpir was born on the 19th of December in 1960. Shaygan Kheradpir got his bachelor’s degree, master’s and doctoral in electrical engineering from Cornell University. In his early career, he worked at GTE Laboratories where he performed on network routing, management, and control. After a period of hard working and product diversification, he acquired a lot of respect to become the information officer at GTE.
When GTE merged with Bell Atlantic to become Verizon Communications where he served as the president of e-business division. While at this position he worked hard to lead new ventures and diversification of the company products. He formed small teams in the company to help in new product development and improvement of the existing ones. He tested and modified the new products with the help of his team. The team grew to a very large number and often worked late hours to come up with new developments in the industry.
His team led to the development of Verizon’s fiber optic video initiative and related DVR. In 2004, his department launched Verizon one, which was a combination phone, router, modem and portable device. His division also engineered call center, website, and automated customer service. His department also integrated the GTE and Bell Atlantic’s and NYNEX systems. Kheradpir motivated employees who worked under him through his developments and new ventures every day. With continued product acceptance and development, he received massive approval from the management and the market at large.
Later in 2011, he joined Barclays as the Chief Operating Officer of Global Retail & Business Bank. He initiated Pingit mobile payments software here. Later in 2013, he was promoted to Chief Operations and Technology Officer. In 2014, he became the CEO of Juniper Networks where he executed restructuring and cost-cutting plan. The amounts from cost cutting were used to buy shares and increase dividends.
Presently he is the CEO at Coriant, which is an optical networking vendor. He has been a member of the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and is a member of Cornell University Engineering Council. Over the years,Kheradpir has worked hard to improve his status and initiate new developments in the Engineering category.
According to him, his main focus and strategy for any new company is building a team of trusted and focused employees who work hard to develop and diversify the technological markets. His focus currently is diversifying his products with the changing world. He focuses on blending in with new customers and work according to their perspective. He also states that his partners matter most to him since they are closer to customers, and their way of thinking and functionality is similar to customers.
Kheradpir’s system focuses on working with his management regardless of their perspective. At Juniper where he associated with a team of all experienced staff, he was able to maneuver and create information system while at the same time cutting on expenditure to increase company’s investment. To Kheradpir life is about development and raising to higher standards each day with faith in your team. Today he has long-term plans, investments, and strategies that no other company attempts to venture for fear of changes in the market.
